EA and FUNimation Annouce Mass Effect Anime Movie

EA and FUNimation have announced that they'll be teaming up to produce a Mass Effect anime film. BioWare and Mass Effect's executive producer Casey Hudson will act as executive producer on the film alongside Gen Fukunaga, president and CEO of FUNimation Entertainment.

"Over the last few years, we have revealed different pieces of the Mass Effect world through different media. Extending the story through an anime medium is another amazing opportunity for us,” said Hudson. "Partnering with FUNimation ensures that we will bring this rich universe to life with the utmost quality and the same attention to detail that the Mass Effect games are known for.”

This isn't the first Bioware and FUNimation collaboration.

“With production underway on the Dragon Age video, we are excited to team up with another BioWare team to add an exciting new chapter to this vast sci-fi world.” said Fukunaga.

Arnold Launches Animated series: The Governator

You read the title right, folks. Arnold Schwarzenegger is launching an animated series called... The Governator! Nice pun work.

Loosely based on his life as a movie star and governor, Arnie fights crime and natural disasters in the hope to make it home before dinner.

The project is a collaboration between Schwarzenegger, branded entertainment firm A Squared Entertainment, comic books publisher Archie Comics and POW! Entertainment – the company headed by former Marvel Comics creator Stan Lee.

"You will see more action in this series than you have ever seen before, but combined with comedy." he said. "This will not be a violent show. If you look at my movies, a lot of heads come off! That is not what this is."

Personally I cannot wait to see how this works out, but what do you think? Will this be a hit and bring Arnold back into showbiz, or will this just be something of an amusement and a flop?

Nintendo 3DS Sells over 300,000 units in Europe

In Japan the Nintendo 3DS sold over 800,000 units in the first month. Over here in Europe just 2 days after the realise 303,000 units had been sold. Amazing numbers, right? But my question is this... how long will this handheld last?

The arrival of 3D in gaming and home cinema (even television - Sky 3D for example) is very new still and so knowing whether this will last long or if it is just a fad that will die down within a few years is something that is not really known. With the numbers rising with sales of Nintendo 3DS going up all the time, perhaps we are wrong to judge in an negative way after all. Having listened to a few reviews of the games on this handheld I can't really see this doing any better unless games start to look better and use the 3D very well. As far as I have seen the brand new Nintendogs + Cats has been very successful, but I believe this is because of the changes made and the use of 3D has made the game more enjoyable.

Thing is I am sick of Nintendo making changes and updating their handheld every few months. I should not be required to buy another DS just because it's screen is better, because it's lighter or because the colour is cooler. These are the things I'd expect from the first release!

Question is for fellow Nintendo DS owners: Would you go buy the new Nintendo 3DS and get rid of your old one, or are you happy with your 2D gaming life?
